Plagiarism Policy
AGRINOVA: Jurnal Inovasi Agribisnis maintains a zero-tolerance policy regarding plagiarism. We believe that ethical publishing is the foundation of academic integrity. Every manuscript submitted to the journal undergoes a rigorous screening process to ensure originality and proper attribution.
1. Screening Process
All submitted manuscripts are screened for similarity using Turnitin or other plagiarism detection software. This screening is performed:
-
Immediately upon submission (Pre-review stage).
-
Before final publication (Production stage), if significant revisions were made.
2. Similarity Threshold
-
The maximum acceptable similarity index is 25%.
-
However, even if the overall index is below 25%, a manuscript may still be returned or rejected if there is a high concentration of similarity (e.g., more than 5%) from a single source without proper citation.
3. Types of Plagiarism
The editorial board considers the following as serious ethical violations:
-
Direct Plagiarism: Copying text word-for-word from another source without quotation marks or attribution.
-
Self-Plagiarism: Re-using significant portions of one’s own previously published work without disclosure.
-
Patchwriting: Interweaving someone else's phrases with one's own without clear distinction.
-
Insufficient Citation: Failing to credit the original author for ideas, data, or unique theories.
4. Consequences
-
If plagiarism is detected at the submission stage, the manuscript will be returned to the author for revision or summarily rejected.
-
If plagiarism is discovered after publication, the journal reserves the right to issue a formal retraction or correction in accordance with the COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines.
